Directions

  • From Newcastle, WY (on HWY 16 E)

Important:  Ignore Google's suggestions to take North Pole Road or Upper French Creek Road off US HWY 16 E, as these are not suitable for horse trailers.

    • Continue on US HWY 16 E into Custer, SD. Turn left onto US HWY 16 E / US 385 N.
    • Drive for 3.3 miles, then turn left onto Medicine Mountain Road.
    • At the first intersection, keep left, continuing onto Custer Limestone Road for 3 miles.
    • At the subsequent intersection, maintain your course by staying right onto Saginaw Rd.
    • Bridle Ridge will be approximately one mile ahead on your left.
  • From Rapid City, SD (on HWY 90 W)

    • Take exit 61 toward SD 79 S. Continue on SD 69 S/US 16 BYP follow for 8.8 miles.
    • Turn left onto US 16 W/Mt Rushmore Road and continue to Hill City.
    • Take the downtown Hill City by-pass by going left on US 16w SE Main Street (to avoid crowded Main Street while hauling).
    • At the traffic light, turn left onto US 16 W/385 S Main Street, and go for about 9 miles following signs to Custer / Crazy Horse.
    • After passing the Crazy Horse Memorial on your left, go down about a mile and go right onto Medicine Mountain Road.
    • Follow for about a mile; then at the first Y in the road go left onto Custer Limestone Road. (Do not stay on Medicine Mountain as Google Maps may instruct you to.) The turn into the campground from Medicine Mountain isn't banked well when you're hauling and is more difficult to make the turn into camp.
    • Follow Custer Limestone Road for about 3 miles to the next Y, and go right onto Saginaw Road.
