About Bridle Ridge Horse Camp

And a bit about the women who built it

The Bridle Ridge Story

The seeds of this dream were planted as I was growing up in Kentucky watching Bonanza, The Big Valley and Daniel Boone. As a little girl I dreamed of crossing the plains by wagon train facing and overcoming all the dangers and proving myself a brave pioneer. For me the west was, and is, a magical place and I wanted to ride my horse Tango where the deer and the antelope played. I promised myself if the opportunity to move West ever presented itself, I would take it!

Fast forward to 2016. At the time I had lived in Atlanta GA for 29 years. I was single, bored and it was time for a change. So, one day I joined a Facebook group called HTCAA, and the world of trail riding was again opened up to me. After some soul searching and a lot of research, I decided to purchase land in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota that would become Bridle Ridge Horse Camp in the fall of 2017. In the spring of 2018, we began clearing the land, drilling the well and installing the sewage system. During the summer and fall of 2018 until late into December we worked on installing the rest of the infrastructure and built the first barn. Bridle Ridge welcomed our first guest on June 15th of 2019 and that was truly a rewarding moment and very special day!

No doubt this journey has been challenging and each year we will continue to grow BUT the joy of following my dreams and the opportunity to share this glorious part of the country with my guest allows me to welcome each new day and each new challenge with a very grateful and excited heart.

The picture at the top is of our north pasture in the fall and the fat little toddler on the horse is me with my Mom on my first horse back ride ever.

A Heartfelt Thanks

I would like to thank each and every person who has been a part of the construction and operation of Bridle Ridge during the last several years. Without your contribution and sacrifice I could never have pulled this crazy dream off. It has absolutely taken a village.

You are personally invited to come ride with us, be a part of the dream and become a part of the Bridle Ridge family.
